As a clinical therapist, I have worked with several clients dealing with difficult times in their lives.

My work revolves around being empathetic, disciplined and structured yet flexible. I help my clients work through their emotional issues by enabling them to see their options and allowing them to resolve them. It is often a challenging road for many people. However, once a person sees changes, he or she has hope. Seeing my clients get to this place is the reason that I choose to become a therapist.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in the first session when I see a therapist?

You can expect to discuss initial paperwork before the actual assessment begins. Once the paperwork is completed, the therapist will ask you questions about why you came to treatment and discuss your treatment goals. Feel free to address concerns and ask questions during this process.

How do I know if I need therapy?

There is no concrete answer or specific checklist that one needs in order to come to therapy. I would prefer if potential clients ask themselves if their symptoms and behaviors are causing stress or dysfunction in their daily life. If the answer is yes, coming into therapy may be the answer for you. Remember clients come in for various reasons so comparing yourself to another client is not helpful. Everyone’s experience is different and unique.

How long will I need therapy for?

Every individual is different and unique. During the initial session, the therapist works with the client to formulate a treatment plan that would be most beneficial for the client. Depending on the client’s needs, the length of treatment can be estimated by the therapist with the client’s input. Remember, I am here to help you met your goals; not mine.
